In addition to being a current topic, the importance of talking about it is anchored in the fact that many people still do not know how to act with a person with autism. Thus, we will present what are the characteristics that the person with ASD can present; we will explain what PECS, ABA and TEACH are, main resources used for the development of children with ASD; rights that protect the person with TEA; and, especially for teachers, some methodologies that can be worked on in the classroom and that can contribute to the inclusion and learning of the student with TEA. Our objective, therefore, is to emphasize the importance of talking about the theme raised. In spite of having had studies since the middle of the twentieth century, only in the last few years have we had more in-depth studies in the area, to a large extent, due to the significant increase in cases both in Brazil and worldwide. With that, we see the need for people to know what, in fact, TEA is; how the autistic person feels; knowing that their thinking is different from a person considered “normal” and understanding that the autistic person wants and needs to be included in society, to be respected.application/pdfopenAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Educação especialInclusãoDeficiênciaEducaçãoAutismo: Conhecendo esse mundoAutism: Knowing this worldCapítulo de livro
