However, more than projects and daily work, the grandeur of its waters hide bitter stories that are remembered to this day by those who participated in this process. In this sense, our goal throughout this text is to analyze some interpretations that, intentionally or unintentionally, are left in the background. We seek to investigate strands that are commonly overlooked, not because they are irrelevant, but because they are part of means which, according to certain views, did not justify ends. Therefore, being more specific in our research, we will investigate the possibility of an exploration of the workforce of men and women who worked in the service fronts of the dam. Perceiving an intrinsic view of this perspective of study behind the scenes of this construction, we will try, in the light of studies developed by Castro (2011), Neves (2000), Filho and Souza (1988), among others, to analyze and reflect on some memories and writings that are part of this discussion. In this way, we will be able to show other protagonists of this story - men, women and children who faced not only climatic but notably human adversity in the hope of achieving better days.Ubicada en la ciudad ahora conocida como Varjota, en el estado de Ceará, Açar Araras se construyó a partir de políticas públicas para reducir los efectos causados ​​por las sequías inherentes al clima semiárido en el noreste. Sin embargo, más que proyectos y trabajo diario, la grandeza de sus aguas esconde historias amargas que hoy en día recuerdan quienes participaron en este proceso. En este sentido, nuestro objetivo a lo largo de este texto es analizar algunas interpretaciones que, intencionalmente o no, quedan en un segundo plano. Intentamos investigar los aspectos que comúnmente se pasan por alto, no porque sean irrelevantes, sino porque son parte de medios que, según ciertos puntos de vista, no justifican los fines. Por lo tanto, siendo más específicos en nuestra investigación, investigaremos la posibilidad de una exploración de la fuerza laboral de hombres y mujeres que trabajaban en los frentes de servicio de la presa. Al percibir una visión intrínseca de esta perspectiva de estudio detrás de escena de esta construcción, intentaremos, a la luz de los estudios desarrollados por Castro (2011), Neves (2000), Filho y Souza (1988), entre otros, analizar y reflexionar sobre algunos recuerdos y escritos que son parte de esta discusión.
