Cities with difficulties in capturing or lacking surface water resources import water to meet the needs of a rapidly growing population, which can unbalance the supply in other locations. In educational institutions, poor water management generates economic and environmental costs that affect the entire academic community. Quantifying the volume of water demanded by users is an auxiliary tool in this management, being essential for sizing, expansion, and loss control projects. Based on measurements carried out at the water meters at the IFBA campus Vitória da Conquista in 2019 and 2020, a study is presented on the quantification of water consumption per capita using four different methodologies. The calculation of water consumption per capita was 8.31 L/day, while the per capita demand for effective consumption resulted in 9.64 L/day and the Isolation of Variables presented 4.29 L/inhabitant/day. The tool that proved to be most suitable for the institute was the Equivalent Populations methodology, which was 12.99 L/EP/day.
