Silva, P. S. P.2021-05-0420202675-570Xhttps://deposita.ibict.br/handle/deposita/198This article is the result of some trips that I made to the city of Juazeiro do Norte-CE, where I had opportunities to record facts and mathematical images in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the city. I emphasize that the trips took place due to my research for the PhD that was in progress. For the development of this work, support me in the perspective of critical education that presupposes a view on people, on the contents and on societies in the light of the theoretical assumptions of ethnomathematics - which has concentrated its views on the relationship between education and culture of social groups, linking to people's history, their traditions, including their ways of dealing mathematically with the world. I noticed that in the streets of a neighborhood on the outskirts of this community, it is likely to see boys playing with the homemade toys that roll and that can be pushed or pulled with a stick; girls helping their mother at home and taking care of younger siblings; men talking to friends, smoking and playing card games, others “guiding” carts (two-wheelers) pulled by a mule and women selling small items and also students studying mathematics, a discipline understood as a precious instrument that structures the community context.application/pdfopenAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/ClassroomMathematical EducationEthnomathematicsMathematical PracticesSala de AulaEducação MatemáticaEtnomatemáticaPráticas MatemáticasMatemáticaAlguns modos de lidar matemáticamente num bairro da periferia de Juazeiro do Norte – CESome ways of dealing mathematically in a neighborhood outskits of Juazeiro do Norte – CEArtigo
