M.2024-03-272014https://deposita.ibict.br/handle/deposita/576The projects focused on the aesthetic and cosmetic market sectors that represent one of the most economically developed as a result of various social and cultural factors, driven by technological development of specialized products and services, generating a significant offer of employment. The offer variety of products and services in market values and needs that aggregates initially aimed at the female audience is gaining greater proportions with men and children accession. This phenomenon is easily observed in the increasing number of small, medium and large companies that provide services for the growing demand in this sector in the large centers and peripheries of urban areas. In result of the sped up growth of the cities and the search of the maintenance of the aesthetic health through cosmetic procedures each time more elaborated and at the same time the concern of the man with the quality of life,takes to consider it the necessity of a more specific ambient management in this sector. The aim of this study was to characterize and identify the most relevant aspects and environmental impacts in the projects aimed at this market, proposing attitudes to environmental practices and suggest actions for waste management. The research was carried out in enterprises of small and medium-sized urban area in the city of Manaus, randomly chosen and with the law of secrecy and confidentiality of the names of people and companies. To collect data was used the literature, questionnaire, observation of productive actions and dispose of waste in places. Those involved in the study of the establishments were voluntary, informed of the study objectives and the importance of the project, which generated some awareness of managers regarding the need for awareness and environmental management soon perceived the onset of labor. According to the results and analysis of this stage, it was found that the negative environmental impacts occur as a product of uncontrolled water consumption, energy inefficiency, generation of wastewater resulting from the production activities of all institutions, compromising the natural resources and in solid waste management in enterprises presents fragility manifested by the discontinuity of their actions in disconnected fashion with environmental dimensions when they occur and are punctual.
