Cabo, Pedro Henrique da Silva Vaz doFigueiredo, Cecilia Moreyra2024-09-252023https://deposita.ibict.br/handle/deposita/662As cultural alchemists, this research adopts a multidisciplinary approach, intertwining cinematic and sociocultural threads to unravel the mysteries behind the cinematic phenomenon that is "Frozen." Our attentive gaze dances through the narrative, aesthetic, and sociocultural aspects of the film, revealing the uniqueness of this work that, like an invisible thread, weaves a deep connection with the hearts of those who venture into its frozen realm. Inspired by the words of Hall (2016), Escosteguy (2000), and Kellner (2001), we venture into the paths of Cultural Studies and theoretical perspectives, using these enriched lenses to uncover the cultural and symbolic elements that permeate Arendelle. In the journey of this research, just as Elsa seeks answers in the ancestral river Ahtohallan, we explore the frozen depths and draw parallels between "Frozen" and Hans Christian Andersen's original tale, "The Snow Queen," unearthing nuances that resonate with themes of non-belonging and exclusion. Under the watchful eye of cultural materialism and Kellner's provocative theories, we unravel the film, placing it in dialogue with the pulse of contemporary sociocultural dynamics. By breaking the ice layers of this journey, we thaw the understanding that "Frozen" is more than a mere fairy tale; it is an ethereal reflection and an active agent, dancing in social and economic dynamics like a constantly changing northern lights. This research, much like snowflakes coming together to form thick layers of snow, enriches the understanding of culture as an ongoing social practice, capable not only of reflecting but also actively influencing transformations in our society.application/pdfopenAccessFrozenCultural AnalysisCultural MaterialismCultural StudiesRepresentativenessFairy TalesIdentityFrozenAnálise CulturalMaterialismo CulturalCinemaEstudos CulturaisRepresentatividadeContos de FadasIdentidadeComunicaçãoTeoria da Comunicação"O frio não vai mesmo incomodar?
