With this, we developed two activities of mathematical modeling with experimentation in the discipline of Chemistry, with eight students from a class of 2nd grade of High School of a rural school located in the interior of Paraná. The methodological contributions that guided our analyzes are based on qualitative research and are organized according to the guidelines of Content Analysis. After reporting the activities developed, the analysis of the selected corpus allowed to show different interpretant, intentional, effective, and communicational signs, which were used or produced in the different phases of the activities. The signs revealed the roles of stimulating, guiding, relating, simplifying, hypothesis raising, understanding, representation and validation. The semiotic look allowed the survey of the category of intensions and objectives that is causally related to the role of intentional interpretant signs; the category ideas and experiences related to the meanings attributed through the roles of the effective interpretant signs and the category means of treatment related to the roles of the communicational interpretant signs. Through the categories it was possible to highlight communication in the classroom and how communication led students to learn Chemistry and Mathematics. The analyzes also made it possible to highlight the action of the semiosis that was made through the communication established between those involved in the development of the activities. The Educational Product that originated through this research, entitled “Mathematical Modeling and experimentation: suggestions to the teacher” is a material that contains the activities developed in this research and a few more suggestions of Mathematical Modeling activities with experimentation. In organizing the material, we make the activities available, give suggestions on how the teacher can conduct them, exemplify with possible mathematical approaches, and suggest some references on the topics covered that are present in the literature.application/pdfopenAccessEducação matemáticaModelagem matemáticaExperimentaçãoSemiótica peirceanaComunicaçãoEnsinoUma análise semiótica da comunicação em atividades de modelagem matemática com experimentaçãoDissertação
