The movement that we propose to describe here, far from being concentrated and closed in on itself, is, quite the contrary, linked by multiple links both in the future and in the past. It constitutes just one act, a singular phase of the immense movement that made it possible for the individual to think about himself. The present thesis seeks to consider the history of Traditio Sphaerae in a light that does not have the sole purpose of establishing and describing the results, but, moreover, revealing the creative forces through which these results are intimately elaborated. Therefore, this work is based on some theses-ideas that will corroborate the propositions presented here: 1) the foundation of the celestial sphere in texts and images in classical antiquity; 2) survival of Traditio Sphaerae; 3) the figurative paradigm of the sphere.
