The article presents a cultural mediation experience and reflects on cultural action in university libraries, its implications and results, as well as discusses the profile of the professional librarian front of these initiatives. The research is characterized as a field research from the case study method in a descriptive design. The setting of the research was to Fr Happy Zavattaro Library, Central Library of the Catholic University Dom Bosco -. UCDB in Campo Grande - MS, held between 11-31 August 2015. It was noticed the cultural mediation process eveloped in the scenario of a university library, contributes significantly o the establishment of new institutional relationships between the library itself and university instanciamentos, bringing in new academic erspectives, teachers, course coordinators and senior management as function of cultural mediation.
