The childhood and adolescence phase is marked by intense physical and emotional transformations, making young people more vulnerable to mental disorders, such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, psychotic disorders and suicide attempts. The research was conducted based on articles published between 2016 and 2021, selected from databases such as BDENF, BVS, LILACS and SciELO. Of the 87 articles initially found, only 4 met the inclusion criteria. The data analyzed reveal that factors such as disappointments in love, family conflicts, domestic violence and feelings of helplessness are frequent triggers for psychiatric crises. The study also points to a higher incidence of these disorders in females, related to situations of emotional and physical violence. Furthermore, the study highlights the lack of preparation of many health professionals to deal with psychiatric emergencies, reinforcing the need for specific training and actions to promote mental health in schools. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of public policies that guarantee free and continuous psychological assistance, as well as the need for new studies that monitor the social and emotional transformations of contemporary youth.application/pdfopenAccessSaúde da CriançaSaúde do AdolescenteSaúde MentalServiços de Emergência PsiquiátricaCiências da SaúdeEmergências psiquiátricas na fase infantojuvenil: uma revisão de literaturaCapítulo de livro
