| Abstract | Aristotle's Metaphysics is a dense and difficult to understand book. Although structured by an exquisite logical chain, the text itself, as well as its translations, can cause confusion for inattentive readers. Because it is an essential work in the philosophical scene, in general, it is presented to philosophy students at the beginning of their academic lives. It seemed important, therefore, to develop a work of introduction to its most elementary concepts, such as being, being, substance, act and potency. Thus, the objective of this work is to develop, through an analysis of Aristotle's Metafísica and Rosset and Frangiotti's Metafísica antiga e medieval, to list and elucidate the introductory elements of First Philosophy. It will also be highlighted the reason why Aristotle calls this science First Philosophy, and, therefore, I will relate, if possible, the meaning of this term with Aristotelian teleology. | eng |

| Resumo | A Metafísica de Aristóteles é um livro denso e de difícil compreensão. Embora estruturado por um encadeamento lógico primoroso, o texto em si, bem como suas traduções, podem causar confusões em leitores desatentos. Por ser uma obra essencial no cenário filosófico, em geral, é apresentada aos estudantes de filosofia no início de suas vidas acadêmicas. Pareceu-me importante, portanto, desenvolver um trabalho de introdução aos seus conceitos mais elementares, como ente, ser, substância, ato e potência. Assim, o objetivo desse trabalho é desenvolver, por meio de uma análise à Metafísica de Aristóteles e a Metafísica antiga e medieval de Rosset e Frangiotti, elencar e elucidar os elementos introdutórios da Filosofia Primeira. Destacar-se-á ainda, o motivo pelo qual Aristóteles denomina essa ciência como Filosofia Primeira, e, por conseguinte, relacionarei, se possível, a significação desse termo com a teleologia aristotélica. | por |
